Myrsa, 23 years old, came from Haiti to Buenos Aires 4 years ago to study. Her brother and cousins were already here. She lives in Almagro. She worked in a bar until she was fired, and her job search confronts her with racism on a daily basis. She started dancing by taking “tangola” classes: a mix of tango and Angolan dances. She is part of two associations: NniFare Afro Danzas and Marabu Kreolle, from which she advocates in the fight against racism, feminism, and migrant rights. Using elements from the protagonist’s daily life and excerpts from an interview, this episode addresses issues related to racism and discrimination as a black woman in the dancer’s migrant experience, from an intersectional perspective. The approach is made through the intersection of Haitian dances and contemporary dance.
